Who We Are

Lt. General Jagjit Singh Aurora, Ex. MP of Rajya Sabha, PVSM, Padma Bhushan and liberator of Bangladesh joint hands with S. Ranjit Singh OBE and established Sikh Forum International in 1985 with the help of other likeminded Sikhs under patronage of Lord John Stevens QPM and A.S. Dassan. Before the establishment of the Forum, General Aurora was an active member of Citizens Justice committee which provided Pro-Bono assistance to the Sikh Victims of 1984 genocide of Sikhs, who were attacked or killed by mobs orchestrated by the Congress party in New Delhi, following the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her bodyguards.

At the time of General Aurora’s death on 3rd May 2005 Mr. Morshed Khan, the then Bangladeshi Foreign Minister stated: “Aurora will be remembered in the history of Bangladesh for his contribution during our war of liberation in 1971, when he led the allied forces.”

At Present Mr. Ranjit Singh OBE of RK Group of Companies of London is the President of the Sikh Forum International.

What We do...

For the last 31 years the Forum has been honoring the Sikhs who could be role models of Sikhi by giving the Sikh Of the Year Award”. Besides that the forum has liberally contributed to the Great Ormond Street Hospital for the children in London, British Army and the Prince’s Trust. Besides that Forum has been encouraging Sikh Youths to join British Army, Navy, Air Force and the British Police Forces in service of their country.

The Forum is well known in Britain and India for its charitable, social and religious activities. It maintains links with other bodies in the USA, Canada and Europe. The Forum is playing an active role to make Britain a Role Model of multi-cultural and multi-faith society. It is committed to support the Government’s diversity initiative and is always looking to get involved and do more.
